Kansas Assessment Program

The Center for Educational Testing and Evaluation (CETE) has worked with the Kansas State Department of Education for the past 30 years to provide all Kansas schools with a variety of assessment services.

CETE offers the following assessments to all 289 school districts in the state of Kansas:

  • summative assessment in math, reading, science and social studies
  • formative assessment in math, reading, science and social studies.

More than 15,000 educators throughout the state of Kansas use CETE’s Kansas Interactive Testing Engine™ (KITE™) for item development, form building, test administration, and reporting.

During the 2012-13 school year, KCA delivered more than 1.84 million summative test sessions and 1.7 million formative test sessions.

Kansas had a record 99.7 percent of students take computer-based assessments during the 2010-11 school year. Visit the Kansas Assessment Program for more information.
